Cancellation of Slide n Spin Show 6 & 7 March 2010.
It is with deep regret and due to circumstances beyond our control,
the SQRHA Committee announce the cancellation of the
Slide n Spin Affiliate Show.
Due to adverse weather conditions that have occurred within the greater southern Queensland area over the past week, the SQRHA Committee has decided to cancel the Slide n Spin Show. There is an enormous amount of flooding and ground water lying around. Too much water, to ensure the safety, of your horses and yourselves.
So, what does this mean?
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Slide n Spin Show will NOT be rescheduled.
Competitors will be fully reimbursed.
SQRHA riders wishing to qualify for the Reining Australia National Show are still able to qualify, by competing at both SQRHA Pacific Coast Reining Spectacular and QRHA State Show.
SQRHA Committee would like to thank the owners and riders for nominating their horses at our show. At the close of entries, we counted 227 runs, with still some late entries coming through. After much deliberation and weighing up of options, the regretful decision to cancel the show, came after exploring all avenues and ways in which to salvage the show, by rescheduling. Events beyond our control, means there are no weekends available at Lockyer Indoor Equestrian Centre, apart from weekends the club already had pre-booked. SQRHA Committee had already previously kindly donated one of our valuable pre-booked weekends to QRHA, in order for them tohold their State Show at LIEC, Gatton. This only left the Easter long weekend available for our Committee to reschedule our Slide n Spin show. This would have meant that we would have had three major shows very close together in time, so it was decided that we simply had no option but to cancel Slide n Spin.
However, this means we are still able to hold a Ribbon Day Show for riders and owners over the long Easter weekend, as previously planned. The program will be up on our website shortly. See you there!
